TNT beginner's guide: getting started with TNT
This guide covers everything a new player needs to get started with TNT, the competitive skill-based shooter from TNT Studio: creating an account, how free matches and VIP rooms differ, setting up the wallet, and the fair-play rules. TNT is in an invite-only closed alpha on Windows PC, so some steps apply only to invited testers.
1. Create your TNT account
Go to tntstudio.uk/app/signup and sign up. Accounts are free. You must be at least 18, and each person may have only one account. Verify your email address straight away, because you will need it before you can make a withdrawal.
2. Getting into the closed alpha
The TNT game client is currently available only to invited testers. Testers receive access details from TNT Studio and download the Windows client (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, about 3.2 GB) from the download page. If you are not in yet, your account still gives you the TNT app's social features, and we post new access phases on the updates page.
3. Pick a mode
Free For All is the mode playable in the closed alpha: every player for themselves. Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy and team queues (Duos and Squads) are in development. The TNT game modes section shows the current status of each one.
4. Progression: XP, levels and skill rating
Every match feeds your profile: XP, your level, your rank tier and a skill rating that moves with your results. Standard matches are free, so this is where you learn the game and find out how you compare with other players, without spending anything.
5. VIP rooms: how prizes work
VIP rooms are optional matches with an entry fee paid in TNT credits. Here is how they work:
- Each room has a set number of places and starts only when every place is filled.
- Each room shows its entry fee and its fixed prizes for the top finishing places before you join. Prizes are funded from entry fees and total less than the fees collected.
- Prizes depend on your final placement. There are no random rewards.
Our advice: only enter VIP rooms once your free-match results show you can hold your own, and only with money you are comfortable losing. Paid features are 18+ only, and you may not use them where local law prohibits them.
6. The TNT wallet and withdrawals
The wallet holds TNT credits. Under the Terms, 1 TNT credit is equivalent to 1 US dollar.
- Deposits: card payments through Stripe, or RedotPay.
- Withdrawals: to a bank account through Stripe. You need a verified email, the minimum is $10, and identity verification may be required.
- Reviews: withdrawals pass fraud checks and can be held while they are reviewed.

7. Fair-play rules
TNT is a skill competition, so the rules are strict. Cheat software (aimbots, wallhacks, macros), exploiting bugs, collusion, match-fixing, multiple accounts and using VPNs to manipulate matchmaking are all banned. TNT Studio's machine-learning fraud detection scores player behaviour and withdrawals. A violation can lead to suspension and loss of your account balance. How TNT stays fair.
8. First-match tips
- Play several free Free For All matches before you think about entering a VIP room.
- Learn the maps' sightlines and cover first; how you position yourself matters as much as your aim.
- Keep moving. Third-person cameras punish players who stand still in the open.
- Watch your skill rating over a series of matches, not just one result.
